No matter how you choose to spend this Valentine’s Day, the most important thing is to have fun. Whether you’re in a loving and healthy relationship, surrounded by friends or you’re still dreaming of true love’s kiss, there’s enough magic for everyone here at the Walt Disney World Resort to enjoy this day filled with love.
If you’re one of the few who experienced a magical moment and found a romantic partner during your time with Disney Programs, you’ll be able to spend the day in one of the most romantic places in the world – that’s right, Magic Kingdom Park. There’s no better way to start off your romantic adventure than meeting the king and queen of love – Mickey and Minnie Mouse at Town Square Theatre. Once you’ve properly introduced yourself, head over to Tomorrowland and hop on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority People Mover. Although not a very thrilling ride, it’s great to sit back and relax as you leisurely take a trip around ‘the land of tomorrow’ and spend some quality time with your beau. Once you’ve completed your journey through the future, feel free to take a romantic stroll through the park. Enjoy the sights, sounds and snacks as you go hand-in-hand and see what makes Magic Kingdom Park live up to its name. Feeling a bit hungry? Where you go depends on yours and your partner’s taste, but a personal favorite is the well-known Be Our Guest Restaurant. Be seated in the beautiful Grand Ballroom, where you can watch the snow fall from the giant floor-to-ceiling windows, or learn more about the mysterious beast and dine in the West Wing. Better yet, explore the Castle Gallery and dream about the grand library you’ve always wanted. Aside from the delicious food Be Our Guest Restaurant provides beautiful backgrounds and great lighting for those “#RelationshipGoals” selfies we all know you plan on taking. Conclude your night by watching the nighttime spectacular “Happily Ever After Fireworks Show.” This amazing spectacle will make you sing out loud and cherish this moment with your loved one. After all, you’ve reached out and found your happily ever after.
Even though Valentine’s Day is marketed as a day for romance and couples, platonic friendships are just as important and beautiful as romantic relationships. You may not have a partner, but call up a few of your newfound friends and spend the day however the group likes. If you’re trying to avoid romance, the best place to go would be Disney’s Hollywood Studios where you can head straight to Toy Story Land. What better way to show your pals that they’ve got a friend in you than sharing some totchos from Woody’s Lunch Box and then having a friendly competition in Midway Mania. Afterwards, find yourself speeding along on Slinky Dog Dash or defending the galaxy on Alien Saucer Spin. Want more of a thrill? Head over to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith and go zero to 60 in under two minutes. Scream your heart out, and once you’ve completed the ride, find your Disney PhotoPass photos on the screens and laugh with one another as you see the faces you made before hitting top speed. Looking for a little more adventure? Head over to Epcot either by bus or, in continuation of friendship, one of the friendship boats. When you arrive at Epcot, you’ll be dropped off inside the World Showcase where you can travel the world with your besties – and if you’re of a certain age, you can go ahead and check off something from your Disney bucket list, but more on that later. If you’re not feeling like heading out, you can still have an enjoyable night in with your best buds! Grab some arts and crafts supplies from the closest store and make homemade valentines for one another. Feeling dinner and a movie? Enjoy a night in and make dinner with your pals – or Valentine’s Day themed snacks – then stop by the Disney Learning Center at Vista Way and find a few rom-coms. The possibilities are endless!
Valentine’s Day is more than spending money on flowers, chocolates and fancy dinners – it’s about spending time with people you love. Your Disney Program will fly before your eyes, so cherish every moment with your new found family. They will stay with you for a lifetime.
