Ready, set, action! Creating vlogs during your program is like making a movie of the experience. Years down the line, you’ll be able to relive the magical moments and memories whenever you want! Not sure how to get started? Here are my ten tips for vlogging your Disney journey.
1. Enjoy the moments
It can be easy to get caught up in filming every detail of your outings. Don’t forget to enjoy the experience, even if you’re vlogging it! Here is the rule I’ve set for myself: Live it first, document it second. You don’t want to miss out on magical moments by snapping clips the whole time! Set aside some time to film your adventures, and focus more on taking in the happenings around you. Ultimately, vlogging is about capturing your fondest memories!
2. No equipment? No problem!
Don’t let a lack of equipment keep you from vlogging your program! Your phone is the perfect tool to start documenting your experiences.
3. Let your creativity shine
Your vlogs are what you make them! This is your ultimate outlet to showcase the excitement of your Disney program. Think of vlogging as a digital scrapbook for all of your adventures. There are endless ways you can choose to record your program through video! If you’re unsure about defining your vlogging “style,” try multiple different approaches. Vlogging doesn’t have to be this or that; it can be whatever you choose!
4. Think outside of the box
Are you an avid Disney-bounder? Is your room overflowing with DIY Disney crafts? Even the tiniest details of your program could make for an awesome vlog! Reflecting on your own interests is a great way to spark new ideas.
5. Collaborate with friends
Have friends that vlog? Collaborate with each other! Brainstorming and creating videos with your fellow program participants are great ways to record your time at Disney.
6. Make a list of your ideas
During your program, make a list of activities and experiences you want to film. Writing down your vlog ideas can help ensure that you don’t miss a single bit of the magic! Plus, it’s totally satisfying to check things off as you complete them.
7. Share your videos with family
Vlogging is a great way to give your family members an inside look at your program! Show relatives your daily life at Disney by regularly sending them your videos. Not only will they appreciate it, but it’s an awesome option for staying connected.
8. Think broadly, then narrow it down
When you’re struggling to come up with vlog ideas, try approaching it by thinking of themes. What are your best experiences? What have you learned so far? Where do you see yourself at the end of your program? Thinking of the “bigger picture” can help you narrow down your focus.
9. Film a little every week
Even if you aren’t sure which direction you’re taking your vlogs, try to film a small piece of your life every week. Once inspiration hits, you’ll have a stockpile of footage to include in your videos!
10. Remember: It’s about having fun!
Your vlogs will be the perfect trip down memory lane at the end of your program. The most important thing is to have fun in the process!
As a reminder, all vlogs should be captured off the clock and out of costume. Ensure your efforts are respectful to working cast and guests – preserving the magic should always be top-of-mind!
Get your camera rolling!
