“As I near the end of my program, I think back to all the times I visited the Disney Learning Center at Vista Way (DLC) and how much it has benefited me. Everyone needs to know about this tremendous resource!
The DLC has so many offerings, I found myself visiting three or four times per week. Often, I’d stop in to check out a book on my way to the pool, or perhaps a few movies if I felt like staying in. Once I met my required hours, I would stop by to print out my One-Day Park Hopper Guest Ticket from The Hub (no charge for printing-how convenient!).
As I visited more and more, I began to realize how much there was to do! Each week I could stop in to participate in Disney trivia, and I even won popcorn and some cool prizes. There were several activities hosted at the DLC during the course of my program – I watched movies with lots of other CPs, participated in a scavenger hunt for Beauty and the Beast week, and filled out a bracket for March Movie Madness.
Aside from providing me with lots of fun activities, the DLC also helped me with school and professional development. During my program I took an online course through my university. The DLC not only gave me a quiet place to study (Clubroom Thirteen501), but also proctored my exam at no cost to me. As I chatted with the DLC professional interns, I found out about writing labs. Talk about service! I was able to meet one-on-one with a DLC Professional Intern to go over my résumé.
Take my advice: if you’re going to be in the Disney College Program, definitely take advantage of all that is offered by the Disney Learning Center at Vista Way. I promise you won’t regret it!”
