Summer is here! “What does that mean,” you may ask? This is the time of the year when the majority of participants from all over the world arrive. With that being said, we wanted to give our future participants a few packing tips.
In general, pack LIGHT! A lot of our participants feel that he or she should bring their entire wardrobe as well as extra possessions. In theory, that is great because you do not have to spend any money on buying new things. BUT in reality, that is far from the truth. Many participants come to Orlando and still go out shopping. Whether it be at the shopping mall, outlet mall or our stores within the Walt Disney World Resorts, participants are bound to want to buy new possessions.
Quick advice for those who will be doing the program from July to January: make sure you pack some winter clothes. The common misconception is that, because we are in Florida, it does not get cold. This is NOT true. In the months of November and December, it can get down to 50 degrees (10 degrees Celsius) during the day. In the evening, the temperature can drop much lower. For those who will be participating in the program between January and July, bring some winter clothes as well, because January and February can still be a bit chilly.
More importantly, make sure to bring an umbrella! The rainy season typically starts in May and continues throughout the summer months. During this time, it is safe to say that it will rain at least three times a week!
We hope these quick packing tips will give you some kind of idea of what to bring. With that in mind, we are very excited to have you all come here soon!
