October is filled with Halloween fun and scary good times at Disneyland Resort

October is winding down, and Halloween is almost here, which can only mean one thing: spooktacular events and scary good times are all around us

This is always one of my favorite months on the Disney College Program because the ghosts and goblins that make up our California program get to experience all of the excitement we’ve carved up for them.

Everywhere you look, Jack Skellington has left his mark and turned Disneyland® Resort into the ultimate pumpkin town. Even Oogie Boogie joined the party this year with his own bash at Disney California Adventure Park. All of our Disneyland participants had the chance to attend the party and take part in the most villainous celebration yet.

All throughout the parks, the participants are finding picture-perfect Halloween photo spots and are delighted to see their favorite Disney characters dressed up in Halloween attire.

This year, we also decided to let our participants help out Jack and Oogie Boogie by giving Carnegie Plaza a frightfully fun transformation.

Every participant was encouraged to show us their creativity and decorate their door for a Halloween door decorating contest. Our panel of ghost judges allowed our Instagram followers to vote for their favorite door and the winners received some exclusive swag. Carnegie Plaza has never looked so terrifying and we know that our Disney villains would be proud! We’ll have another door decorating contest in December, so follow us on Instagram (@DLRCollegeProgram) and make sure to vote for your favorite!

Sounds like a pretty bewitching month, right? That’s only the beginning of the fun we have planned this Halloween season and throughout the fall program.

Wouldn’t it be awesome if we took over Cars Land and had a night of bumper-to-bumper fun and rewarded them with a cruise down Route 66 for kicks, tricks and hallow-themed fun? It sounds like a blast to me…let’s do it!

Our mid-program celebration is something we look forward to every season and it’s our way to reward the participants for the outstanding job they do every day bringing the Disney magic to life. They are truly the heart and soul of the program and we do everything we can to help them have a fun, successful program, and have some cool adventures along the way.

This month, we took over Radiator Screams for one night and our pit stop along Route 66 was filled with Halloween snacks and treats, access to Radiator Springs Racers and Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween, rockin’ music and a special meet and greet with some of everyone’s favorite haul-o-ween friends. It was a wheel-y awesome night and something our participants will never forget.

If all of that sounds like a blast, you’ll be amazed to hear that it’s only a fraction of the spectacular things we have planned this season. Keep following our adventures on Instagram and make sure to apply for the Disney College Program so you can experience the magic firsthand.

Happy Halloween from Disneyland Resort – beware of hitchhiking ghosts!
