The holiday season is here and Disneyland Resort has officially transformed into The Merriest Place on Earth! From thousands of twinkling lights, miles of ribbon and plenty of holiday cheer, this festive season is truly one of the most magical times of the year.
Our California-based participants will finish their program in less than a month, but before they complete their adventure, they’re spending their final month in California by going above and beyond to give some Disney holiday magic to those who need it the most.
Thanks to our Disney VoluntEARS program, our participants are getting into the spirit of the season by taking part in a company-wide initiative called Military Packs. Our participants have the opportunity to put together a Military Pack for our troops by filling it with items and letters, and then we’re sending them to members of our military branches. It’s a great way to send a personalized package and thank them for their service.
Many of our troops find themselves separated from their family during the holidays and this is our way of bringing some happiness to our heroes who are currently serving away from home. Our troops do so much for us; it’s an honor to do something special for them.
We’re also helping out with the annual Toys for Tots initiative and our participants had the chance to donate a toy to a child, or help out at the Downtown Disney District by collecting toys from others. This Disneyland Resort tradition is very important and means so much to our participants because they know that every toy they donate or collect will brighten a child’s holiday season.
The best thing is, our guests can participate, too! If you’re in the Anaheim area and want to take part in our Toys for Tots tradition, donation bins are located throughout the Downtown Disney District through Dec. 12. It’s the perfect way to share joy with others during the holidays.
These are just two of the many Disney VoluntEARS opportunities our California-based participants can take part in each season. If you’re scheduled to arrive in January for our spring program, make sure to ask us about these activities. We’re always looking for VoluntEARS to help us make a difference in our community!
