October is winding down and Halloween is almost here, which can only mean one thing; spook-tacular events and scary good times are headed our way!

This is always one of my favorite months on the Disney College Program because the ghosts and goblins that make up our California program get to experience all of the excitement we’ve carved up for them.

Everywhere you look, Jack Skellington has left his mark and turned the Disneyland Resort into the ultimate pumpkin town. This year, we decided to let our participants help out Jack and give Carnegie Plaza a frightfully fun transformation.

Every participant was encouraged to show us their creativity and decorate their door for a Halloween door decorating contest. Our panel of ghost judges will be floating in the halls next week to determine a winner and select who will win the ultimate prize…a VIP experience at the end of the program. Carnegie Plaza has never looked so festive and we know that Jack would be proud!

By now, most of you have heard that our Hollywood Tower Hotel is getting a makeover. Sure, I know everyone has mixed feelings about this, but we wanted our participants to enter the Twilight Zone one last time before it closes, so we rented out that section of the theme park and it’ll play host to our fall mid-program celebration. This is where we’ll honor and recognize everyone for their hard work and give them a night to celebrate and transport to the 5th Dimension (one final time).

The rooms on the 13th floor have been reserved and it’s our chance to celebrate our participants, the true stars of the Disney College Program. It’s also the perfect farewell to the Hollywood Tower Hotel as we know it, and an exclusive Halloween treat that’s totally worth dropping by.

Halloween at Disneyland is never complete without visiting the Haunted Mansion, so we thought it was time to take the participants backstage and personally introduce them to all of the happy haunts that have materialized over the decades. Is the room really stretching? I guess we’ll find out.

While they’re backstage, they’ll also learn about the spooky secrets of the mansion and see firsthand what makes this attraction so popular. I’ll be sure to take a headcount before and after the tour…we don’t want to leave anyone behind and have them become part of the attraction!

Sounds like a pretty bewitching month, right? That’s only the beginning of the fun we have planned this Halloween season and throughout the fall program.

If you want to follow along in all of our excitement, make sure to follow us on Twitter (@DLR_CP) and Instagram (@DLRCollegeProgram). This is a great way to stay connected to our program and see all of the incredible things that our participants are doing every day.

Happy Halloween from Carnegie Plaza, and make sure to beware of hitchhiking ghosts!
