This week, all systems are “go” at the Disneyland Resort as our participants had the chance to make the leap to hyperspace during a backstage tour of Space Mountain. For a limited time, this classic attraction has been invaded by Star Wars for an out-of-this-world adventure called Hyperspace Mountain, and we had the chance to experience it firsthand.
After the park closed, our participants were able to learn more about the attraction, see areas that aren’t visible to guests, learn some thrilling secrets, and my personal favorite, take the epic adventure with the lights on! This exclusive tour was designed specifically for our California-based participants and it didn’t disappoint.
Backstage experiences are always some of the most popular events we host for our participants each season and we usually schedule at least one per month. This month, we’re taking the participants to the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank for a private tour of the studio lot and a peek at some of the legendary sound stages used to film some of the greatest Disney films of all time.
During the tour, we’ll also drop by the Disney Archives so the participants can see some of the most iconic and historical Disney artifacts that are around. Many of the artifacts they’ll see date back to the time when Walt Disney was walking around the studio lot and planning his latest masterpiece, Disneyland Park.
It’s always fun to take the participants on backstage tours, especially at the Walt Disney Studios because you never know who you’ll see. Whether they see some celebrities filming a movie or a Disney Legend passing by, this day is always one of the most exciting events of the program. Last season, our participants even saw Bob Iger, Chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Company, on our tour! I wonder who we’ll see this season? I can’t wait to find out!
