Be Safe During Your Interview!

No recruitment discussions of any kind including but not limited to phone interviews, phone screens and verbal offers will be take place while a candidate is operating a motor vehicle.

If you apply for one of our Disney Internships & Programs opportunities, you may have the unique opportunity to interview for or engage in recruitment discussions over the phone with a member of the Disney Internships & Programs Recruiting Team. This enables an efficient process for both the candidate and our team while ensuring a high quality recruitment experience.

Our most commonly stated telephone interview tip is to be in a quiet location that is free from any distractions. This allows a candidate to be completely focused on their interview and allows our Interview Partner to clearly hear what the candidate has to say.

From time to time, one of our Interview Partners will call to begin an interview and it is obvious that the candidate is driving in their car. The added wind and engine noise make it difficult to hear, but more importantly, it simply isn’t safe for someone to have an in-depth discussion about a possible employment opportunity when they should be 100% focused on safely reaching their destination.

With the safety of all applicants in mind, the Disney Internships & Programs Recruiting teams have implemented the following cell phone policy:

  • No recruitment discussions of any kind including but not limited to phone interviews, phone screens and verbal offers will take place while a candidate is operating a motor vehicle.
  • Candidates scheduled for a phone interview or phone screen as part of their application process with the Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort will not be permitted to participate in the call while operating a motor vehicle.

If someone calls our offices with a question while driving, they will be asked to call back after they have reached their destination.

If a candidate is called to begin their phone interview/phone screen and they are driving, they will be asked to pull over to a safe location. They will receive another call approximately 5 minutes later to begin the interview. If they are unable to do so, the candidate will need reschedule their interview. In order to reschedule an interview, a candidate must return to their dashboard and it is unlikely that any interviews will be available for that same day.

Please understand safety is the number one priority in the Disney culture and we want you to be safe as you pursue an employment opportunity with us.
