Dear Disney,

Can you believe it’s already February? January flew right on by! This month marks my 8th month as a Professional Intern and it just also happens to be the month of love (both are very exciting!). I personally love February because it gives me an excuse to give the people, places, and things in my life some extra appreciation. The Walt Disney Company is unlike any other company I’ve worked for and I wanted to give you some extra love and let you know exactly why I love being an intern here.

  1. The friendships
Thank you, Disney, for the great people you hire and the culture you’ve created here. You employ people who are not only hardworking and creative, but genuinely good people. You foster an environment of collaboration and team work. I moved to Burbank knowing absolutely nobody, but now 8 months later, I know I have some new, lifelong friendships.
  2. The food
Thank you, Disney, for having the most magical food on Earth! I’ve always been a foodie and you’ve kept me satisfied for the past 8 months. From your famous sushi bowls at the ABC Commissary, to the churros at Disneyland; you know what you’re doing and I’m super thankful to work for a company who appreciates good food like you do.
  3. The networking opportunities
Thank you, Disney, for opening the door for me to a new professional network. I’ve been given the opportunity to attend many networking events with recruiters, people higher up in the company, and other interns. It’s a great feeling to work for a company that WANTS to go out of their way to help you and meet with you to offer advice. This network is important to me and my future career, and I couldn’t be more thankful for it.
  4. The discounts
Thank you, Disney, for your wonderful cast member discounts. I’ve always loved the Disney brand and I’ve always liked buying your products, so thank you for giving me the chance to buy even more Disney merchandise with a little less of the price. My desk and home look magical, thanks to you!
  5. The meaningful work
Thank you, Disney, for the global impact you have. It’s a great feeling going into work each day knowing you work for a company that’s bringing joy to so many people. I love knowing that no work I do is small and that it effects this company and the world in some way.
  6. The fun holiday parties
Thank you, Disney, for making the holidays even more magical than they already were! I loved getting in the spirit with you. Whether it was dressing up as a dwarf for the Halloween event or meeting Santa Goofy and dancing in the fake snow at the Light up the Season event, you made me smile and gave me a lot of holiday cheer and memories.
  7. The movie screenings
Thank you, Disney, for giving interns the opportunity to see your amazing movies before the public. I’ve had the greatest time laughing and crying (thanks Coco) with my best Disney friends during these screenings.
  8. The VoluntEAR opportunities
Thank you, Disney, for always being a positive force in the community. You’re a large company, but you still make time to give back to the communities around you. I’ve enjoyed being part of the VoluntEARS program and attending different volunteer activities. It feels nice to work for a company that cares so much about others, and let’s their employees be part of the magic.
  9. The free admission into the Parks
Thank you, Disney, for giving interns the opportunity to enjoy the Disney Parks for free. There’s nothing more special than spending my days off bonding with my fellow Disney interns at Disneyland and California Adventure. Thanks for the memories!
  10. The Inspiration
Lastly, and most importantly, thank you Disney for inspiring me every day. You’ve created a culture of magic, not just for consumers, but for your employees as well. You’ve shown me the possibilities I can reach in my career and life. I’m at an important place in my career and because of this company, I feel like I can accomplish anything I want to in life.

Happy Valentine’s Day! I love you, Disney.

A Very Thankful Professional Intern
