6 Florida Program must-dos

As a new Disney Internships and Programs participant, you’re starting what will be one of the greatest and most rewarding journeys of your life. While you’ll be making magic for guests and hanging out with your new friends from all over the world, there are also many other things that you can take advantage of during your time in Florida. Here are some must do’s to add to your Disney bucket list:

1) Experience one of Epcot’s international festivals.

Epcot is host to some of the best festivals around. Eating around the world while enjoying one of the many festival exhibits is a great way to spend the day. Oh, and don’t forget to check out one of the many concerts hosted during the festivals!

2) Participate in a Disney Housing event.

The Disney Housing Events Team puts on some remarkable events throughout the year. Whether it’s grabbing free food and meeting characters at a welcome event or spending the day swimming with manatees, it’s sure to be an unforgettable experience!

3) Help out with a VoluntEARS project.

Working at Walt Disney World® Resort gives you the opportunity to make a difference in the Orlando community. There is nothing quite like assisting the Second Harvest Food Bank in food prep and knowing that you helped provide a meal for a family in need. Keep an eye out for these opportunities while on your program!

4) Visit all four parks in one day.

One of the great things about being a cast member is that you have complimentary admission to all four Walt Disney World® Resort Theme Parks. Do you think you’re up to a four-park challenge? Ride at least one e-ticket attraction, attend one of the park’s shows, eat a snack in each park and finish out the night with your final park’s firework show. It’s quite the feat!

5) Attend the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campgrounds.

Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campgrounds is a Walt Disney World® Resort classic. After hopping on a bus to Pioneer Hall, you’ll experience a hilarious musical dinner show with all-you-care-to-eat food. You’ll be waving your napkin above your head long after it’s over!

6) Grab ice cream and watch Happily Ever After from Fantasyland.

If there’s one thing that will make you feel like a child again, it’s eating ice cream while watching Happily Ever After, the Resort’s newest fireworks show. While the projections on the castle are amazing, there is just something about watching the firework show from Fantasyland. The fireworks surround you and illuminate the entire area. It’s truly a great way to end a day at Magic Kingdom.

While these are just a few things for you to check out, don’t limit yourself. Enjoy your Disney Program, experience as much as possible and make plenty of amazing memories. Adventure is out there!
